Cape Town International Boat Show

The Cape Town International Boat Show celebrates its 12th Anniversary, The Boat Show takes place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre and this year will consist of exciting events against the backdrop of one of the Natural Wonders of the World, Table Mountain.

This year’s event will capture the imagination of the whole family from the showcasing of remarkable boats, the best the boat building industry has on offer to the widest variety of boating related products and technology available. Designed to attract both local and international visitors, exciting events, demonstrations and competitions with fabulous prizes are planned.

A 38 ft Leopard, Time Out, visited Yachtport SA for high pressure cleaning and anti-fouling. During this period we also repaired the port aft scoop, fitted new stainless steel screws to the rudder aft trim, secured the starboard U bolt, replaced anodes, removed and serviced the props. The engines were serviced and all electronics checked through. A new electrically operated head was also installed. When these tasks were complete the hull was polished.

MV Eve an 85 ft Princess has received her final coat of paint and is due for re-launch. The Yachtport SA workshop has proved itself ideal for major projects such as this especially during the winter weather.

This 42 ft Phonex yacht returned to Yachtport SA for a routine high pressure cleaning and anti-fouling. Our dedicated team repaired the bow and applied propspeed in a matter of days.

1. Time Out

Time Out, a Leopard 38, was maintained during July at Yachtport. The yacht hull was cleaned, prepared and coated with 2 coats of anti-fouling. Repairs were also done to the port aft scoop, bimimi over the helm, glass work on dash board and hatch in saloon floor.

New stainless steel screws were fitted to rudder aft trim, new logo applied on starboard side and new press studs fitted. The team also needed to secure the starboard U bolt and remove the staysail stay. Propspeed was applied to the props, and new anodes fitted. We supplied her with 4 new stainless steel locks. Lastly we also fixed the zip on stack pack. After our team polished her hull & deck, she was launched back into the water.
